Happy New Year!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and spent time with family. It is almost time to start 2010 and a new semester. I am having a great time moving into my new house and had fun with those of you who made it to movie night. I am excited to discuss Of Mice and Men with you upon return as I am sure you will have all read it well. Until then, read on and have a safe and happy new year.

Reading??
Hi everyone. I am still unpacking my endless supply of boxes and trying to set up my new house. I can't wait for you all to see it. It certainly won't be done, but it will be on its way! Meanwhile, I hope you are all reading Of Mice and Men as you prepare yourselves for Christmas. Rememer what Chris taught us - you don't always need more stuff to find happiness. In fact, his great lesson was, of course, that happiness was only good when shared. It is those with whom you share happiness that make your life good. Chris never made it out to be with those he love. Since we aren't trapped in Alaska (thank God!) let's remember to love those around us and share our happiness with them - presents or not!
While your at it, discover the truth and pain of brotherly love as you read your new book. Steinbeck was a master storyteller, and this great look at the lives of Lenny Small and George Milton is no exception. I look forward to discussing it with you when we return to school in 2010.
See you all Wednesday!

NEW BOOK
Today you will get a copy of Of Mice and Men and begin a new unit. You don't need to be done with it until January 4th, so read at your own pace and keep checking this blog for discussion questions and generally great opportunities to chat with your fave English teacher!
Christmas break is upon us!
We have made it through one semester together and I am excited to have spent it with such great students. As we write wrap up Into the Wild and get ready to celebrate at my house, I want to give you a chance to share your thoughts on the book here. This will be our forum for all of our reading. This is where you will have an opportunity to share your brilliant insight and ask questions. So come join this journey down the road less traveled!
